This section provides extra details that apply to residents of those states.

8.1 Categories of Personal Information We Collect and Share

In the twelve months before the date of this Policy, we may have collected the following categories of Personal Information, as defined by applicable state laws:

  • Identifiers such as name, alias, postal address, email address, online identifiers, and account information
  • Customer records such as contact and billing information

  • Inferences drawn from other information, such as preferences and interests

We may disclose these categories of information to service providers, affiliates, analytics and advertising partners, and other parties described in Section 2.4 for business purposes allowed by law.

8.2 Use of Personal Information

We use the categories of Personal Information listed above for the purposes described in Sections 2.2 and 2.3. We do not use the information for materially different purposes without providing additional notice or obtaining consent where required.

8.3 Sales or Sharing of Personal Information for Advertising

Some state laws define a “sale” or “sharing” of Personal Information to include certain types of data sharing with third party advertising or analytics partners. When we allow such partners to collect or receive identifiers, online activity, or similar information from the Site, and they use that information to provide targeted advertising or cross context advertising, that activity may be considered a sale or sharing of Personal Information under those laws.

If you are a resident of a state where this applies, you may have the right to opt out of these sales or shares. You can exercise this right by adjusting your cookie preferences on the Site where such controls are offered, by using browser controls, or by contacting us as described in Section 12. Some browsers support signals that communicate your privacy preferences. Where required by law, we will treat those signals as an opt out request.

  • Request access to the Personal Information we have collected about you
  • Request deletion of your Personal Information, subject to legal and business exceptions
  • Request correction of inaccurate Personal Information
  • Opt out of certain sales or sharing of Personal Information for targeted advertising
  • Receive more information about our data practices

You or an authorized agent can submit a request by contacting us as described in Section 12. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request, which can include verifying your email address and asking for additional details.

If your state law gives you a right to appeal a decision we make about your request and we deny your request in whole or in part, we will provide information on how to submit an appeal.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. This means we will not deny you services, charge you different prices, or provide a different level of service only because you exercised your rights, although some features may require certain data in order to function.

8.5 California Specific Disclosures

California law may require businesses to provide more details about certain requests received and how they were handled. If needed, we will provide additional information on request or maintain a summary of such information as required by law. We will update this section as those laws and requirements evolve.

9. Publicly Available Information and People Search Data

PersonZoom collects and organizes Publicly Available Information, as described in Section 2.1.5, to build our people search database and provide related reports and services. This Public Data may include information about both users and non users of the Site.

Public Data is generally not created by PersonZoom. It comes from sources such as government records, public filings, and other records that are broadly available to the public. We aggregate and format that information so that it can be searched more easily.

Even though some state privacy laws may treat Public Data differently, we understand that many people care about how this information appears on people search sites. PersonZoom may offer tools or processes to request that certain records be limited or removed from public display on the Site, consistent with law and our policies. Details on how to submit such a request will be available on the Site or by contacting us as described in Section 12.

10. Rights for Certain Covered Persons Such as Judges and Law Enforcement Officers

Some states give extra privacy protections to certain categories of people such as judges, law enforcement officers, prosecutors, elected officials, and in some cases their family members or household members. If you believe you qualify as a covered person under such a law, you may contact us to request that certain information about you be limited or removed from public display on the Site, in accordance with that law.

When you contact us, please:

  • Tell us which law you believe applies
  • Provide enough information to locate the relevant records on the Site
  • Provide information we reasonably need to confirm your identity and status

We will use the information you provide only to process and respond to your request as required by applicable law.

11. Supplemental Notice for Washington Residents

If you live in the state of Washington and have a Washington mobile phone number, state law may give you some specific options relating to people search results that involve your phone number. Where required by law, PersonZoom will provide a way for you to check whether your phone number is included in our services and to request that it be removed. You can contact us using the details in Section 12, and we will explain how to exercise these options.
